Biography

Roz Doherty (b. 1983) is a British photographer, whose work focuses on the intersection of myth, fiction, truth and gender.

2025: Shortlisted for the Dummy Award '25 with The Golden Age of Hijacking.

2025: Selected as part of Africa Foto Fair 2025 Virtual Review & Mentorship Programme. 

2025: Recipient of Leeds City Council Inspire Funding to facilitate a 12-month peer-led mentoring scheme for women and marginalised genders.

2024: Commissioned by Impressions Gallery for Bradford City of Culture 2025. Working on a portrait project alongside the acclaimed Ethiopian photographer, Aida Muluneh. 

2024: The Golden Age of Hijacking selected for BOPFOLIO, a showcase of photobook dummies as part of BOP Festival organised by Martin Parr and the Royal Photographic Society. 

2024: Selected to participate in the inaugural peer mentorship programme run by Photoworks. 

2024: Recipient of Arts Council funding, Develop Your Creative Practice. 

2022: Selected as part of Source Magazine's Graduate feature with The Golden Age of Hijacking.
